Relocate to India or Coach Online? NRI Parent Guide

Should your child move to India for NEET or JEE coaching, or prepare online from abroad? Costs, risks, schedules and questions to ask before deciding.

The real cost of relocating a child

Relocation means a second household or hostel, a change of school board or dummy-school arrangement, and two years away from parents at an age when supervision matters. For many families the emotional cost is larger than the financial one.

Online preparation keeps the child at home, in the same school, with the same syllabus and live teaching — the trade-off is that it needs a disciplined daily routine and parental visibility into progress.

When relocation might still make sense

If a child's local school cannot support the Indian syllabus at all, or the family is returning to India anyway, moving earlier can reduce transitions. Even then, starting online abroad smooths the first months after the move.

Questions to ask any coaching provider

Are classes live or recorded? What is the batch size? Are timings set for my city? How will I receive progress reports? What is included in the fee? Is there a free way to try before paying? Ask for answers in writing.
