- What is JEE?
- JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) is India's national engineering entrance examination, held in two stages. JEE Main is conducted by the National Testing Agency for admission to B.E./B.Tech and B.Arch programmes at the NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded institutes, and many state and private colleges accept the same score. The top rankers in JEE Main qualify for JEE Advanced, which is the only route into the IITs.
- What is the difference between JEE Main and JEE Advanced?
- JEE Main is a computer-based test held in multiple sessions (usually January and April); Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech has 75 questions across Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for 300 marks in 3 hours. JEE Advanced is conducted by one of the IITs for the top JEE Main qualifiers (about 2.5 lakh candidates), has two compulsory 3-hour papers on the same day and uses harder, application-heavy question types with variable and partial marking. Advanced tests depth of reasoning, Main tests speed and accuracy.
- Who is eligible to appear for JEE?
- You can appear in JEE Main in the year you pass Class 12 and in the two years after that. For admission to the IITs and NITs you also need the qualifying Class 12 marks or top-percentile criterion notified for your year. JEE Advanced can be attempted a maximum of two times in two consecutive years. Confirm details in the official JEE Main and JEE Advanced information brochures.
- Which JEE batch should I join for 2027 and 2028?
- Students appearing in JEE 2027 (currently in Class 12 or repeating) should join the 1 Year program or the 90-day Crash Course. Students appearing in JEE 2028 (entering Class 11) should join the 2 Year integrated program. DLP and the test series are available for both the 2027 and 2028 exam years.
